Grand Charity Donations update

Grants to non-Masonic charities totalling £1.3 million were approved at the recent Annual General Meeting of The Freemasons' Grand Charity. This included thirteen grants to support specific projects (major grants) and an allocation of funding for distribution during 2007 to smaller charities (minor grants) and hospice services.

Following the meeting, the first tranche of charities to receive a minor grant was announced.

Four documents are available:

* An information release about the Annual General Meeting and the grants approved.
* A detailed list of the major grants
* A detailed list of the minor grants, including regional distribution.
* Contact details for the charities awarded a minor grant

Over the following weeks, The Freemasons' Grand Charity will be working with the charities receiving major grants to identify opportunities for publicity. Where possible this will include the local Provincial Lodges.

Where a minor grant has been made to a charity in your Province, you may wish to try and secure some local publicity - for example, by issuing a press release. Cheques were issued to the recipient charities on Friday, 23 March and appropriate contact details are attached to this email. If you feel The Freemasons' Grand Charity can provide any assistance in making arrangements then please contact us.

If you would like any further information regarding these grants, please contact Natasha Treweek, Information and Communications Officer on 020 7395 9394 or at ntreweek@the-grand-charity.org.
