Mansfield and Ashfield Branch of Women’s Aid etc. (see below)
On Monday October 22nd, the fantastic sum of £776 was donated to the Mansfield and Ashfield Branch of Women’s Aid and the Children & Young People’s Service by W Bro S.Sunderland and his wife Mrs J Sunderland.
The sum of money was collected through the extreme generosity of all the people that attended the Byron Lodge No.4014’s annual Ladies Evening. Mrs Georgia Evans, who is the co-ordinator of the Children and Young Persons Services, was there to receive the cheque and was very grateful for the support given.
The money collected will be used towards giving children in their refuges and hostels a chance of a Christmas they wouldn’t usually have. The money will be used to assist in funding a trip to ‘Holiday on Ice’ and also towards buying the children a Christmas present. All children deserve a happy Christmas so hopefully the money donated will help to give the children a more joyful end to the year.
