NEWARK LODGE NO. 8332
Our WM, W Bro W Coffey has suffered with Multiple Sclerosis for about 19 years. As a Lodge we are fortunate to have him as a member and now as our very worthy WM. W Bro Bill gains great comfort and support from the Newark MS Information and Support Centre and the Lodge is supporting this charity with a donation of £250.
Another member of the Lodge, Bro M Westmoreland has 2 autistic grandchildren and together with his wife this Brother supports Hope House School, Newark, for children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. The picture shows Lodge Almoner, W Bro Brian Lambert P Pr G Swd B, presenting a cheque for £340 to Mrs T Westmoreland for Hope House School.
The Lodge achieved its target for the 2007 Festival for the New Masonic Samaritan Fund and the WMs gavel is proof of that. Now the Lodge is concentrating on non Masonic charities. We are currently raising well over £1000 per annum for Charity. This is achieved by the annual Study Circle Festival which raises at least £500, raffles at Lodge meetings and other fund raising.
