Children from Ryton Park Primary School helped to make the Carol Concert a success at the Worksop Masonic Hall on 20/12/07 by their singing of a selection of carols and playing their Hand Bells. Their hard work was appreciated by the assembled audience by spontaneous applause: this was led by RW Bro.J S Hill Past Provincial Grand Master of Nottinghamshire and Mrs Wendy Quigley Chairman of Bassetlaw District Council. The carol concert was under the directorship of Rev F T Beech who was the vicar at St Ann’s Parish Church for a number of years, and therefore wasn’t a stranger to many of the audience. We were then treated to a solo by Miss Tina Rossington, this was to become a family night as her father soloed in the carol “We Three Kings” along with W Bro Dr.A A Mousley and W Bro J Lancashire. The musical accompaniment was played by W Bro Paul Jackson. All of this was enhanced by the aid of Bro Malcolm Waring and his sound equipment. Now that everyone had sung themselves dry, we all retired down stairs to where a buffet had been laid. By Bro E Needham. Ryton Lodge 8988 I attended this event with my wife Joan and friend Alan and his wife Bunty and we had a most enjoyable night capped by meeting up with Dr Alan Mousley, who we had not seen for over 12 years. Look forward to the event next year. I also understand from Eric that the Children’s Party was also a resounding success. – Bro Peter Olko
