Bramcote Lodge St Valentine's Sunday Lunch

Once again Bramcote Lodge held their traditional St Valentine’s Sunday Lunch at Beeston Fields Golf Club, an event that has always been a sell out since it was first held over 15 years ago. A sumptuous meal of roast sirloin of beef, expertly presented by catering manager Nick Peters and assisted by his wife, Anne, was served. The Worshipful Master, W Bro Graham Halls who was accompanied by his daughter, Emma, very generously donated an orchid to all the ladies present. Emma then was asked to draw the tickets for the ‘Monster’ raffle, whose prizes had been kindly donated by Lodge brethren and their guests. During the meal a quiz with a Valentine theme was also held. This had been prepared by Bro David Stammer’s wife, Sacha and was fiercely contested by each table but deservedly won by Bro Mike Hathaway and his wife Denise in partnership with guests W Bro Chris Latham and his wife Meryl. W Bro Eddie Verne, assisted by W.Bro Peter Zipser and the rest of the social committee, conducted the whole event in his usual jovial manner. A grand total of £700.00 was raised for the Lodge charity account the proceeds of which will be given later in the year to several local deserving charities, one of which, When You Wish Upon A Star, received £900.00 from Bramcote Lodge last year due to the efforts of the previous WM W Bro Ken Garton and his wife Noella.

Bro, Jonathan Long in ancient custom, in the presence of very distinguished Grand Lodge Officers and many visiting brethren and members. It has now been tradition for the past five years that a photograph is taken depicting the Installing Master, the Master Elect together with one of the leaders of the Province and our own Grand Lodge Officer.

A donation of £841 has been made to Fountaindale School to purchase ten 'BIG Macks'. No, not items from the famous fast food chain, but BIG Mack Communicators.
