3rd Chapter information evening a success.
Thursday 31st January 2008 saw West Bridgford Masonic Hall host the 3rd Chapter information evening, a seminar aimed at those Master Masons considering their next masonic step, along with those having been recently exalted. This event having been previously held at Goldsmith Street and Mansfield, approximately 90 brethren attended what proved to be a very enjoyable and informative evening.
Deputy Grand Superintendent E Comp Richard Gutteridge PGSwdB said: “The idea of the evening is part of a Provincial strategy to improve awareness of the Royal Arch within the Craft, (a strategy now being adopted by Supreme Grand Chapter) whose object is very much education rather than recruitment. We believe all Craft masons should join the Royal Arch but we do not wish to encourage brethren to over commit themselves either in time or financially. We should always remember ‘without detriment to ourselves or connections’”.
It is believed that the Royal Arch is the completion of Antient Masonry – not in ceremonial terms but in terms of knowledge and every Craft mason should feel that they will be made welcome in the Royal Arch whenever the time is right for them.
Any brother seeking further information on the Holy Royal Arch should speak with his lodge's Royal Arch Liason Officer or email this site.
