Mark Masons of Mansfield

On Sunday 24th of February a luncheon was held at the Masonic Hall ,Mansfield. This function was the ninth annual occasion when the joint gathering of Mark Masons of Mansfield and their guests meet together in Mutual fellowship .

The original objective was not only to promote brotherhood between the three Mark Lodges, namely Mansfield Manor, Ashfield and St Peter`s but to aid the fund raising towards the Mark Festival held in Nottingham in 2005.

This Charitable aspect was not forgotten at the luncheon when, by the the generosity of the 137 brethren and other guests in attendance the raffle raised £ 405.00 . This amount was presented to the Provincial Benevolent Administrator, W Bro Ian Marshall for use within the Nottinghamshire Mark Benevolent fund.

The Provincial Grand Master Rt. W Bro. Michael John Gutteridge expressed his delight at being present. In particular he commented on the magnificent sum raised in the cause of Charity . He expressed his desire that the Mark Province should seek to make substantial contributions to two very worthy claims for charity in each year. To this objective he sought guidance from all Lodges and this was his opportunity to generate interest from Mansfield.

Finally, he wished to to record on behalf of all present a thank you for the bountiful food so well presented by the staff of the Masonic Hall.

The afternoon was concluded with the customary rendering of "we`ll meet again", and so to February 2009.
