What a special day !!!

Monday 31st March 2008 show a presentation by Nottinghamshire PGM R.W.Bro.R.K.Wilson and W Bro J Hastie PPrSGW,PGAlmoner, Chairman of the Charity Committee, of a cheque for the value of £3000 to two members of the school council.

A proud father - W.Bro T.R Lilley, who is the charity steward for Ryton Lodge 8988 - was there to see his son's school get this donation and also in attendance was Bro Eric Needham now of Fairham Lodge 8002, and it could be said that it was he who started this remarkable journey, after speaking with the Head teacher and one of the schools music teachers when arranging for the children of the school to sing and play hand bells at the Worksop Masonic Hall Christmas Carol Concert in 2006.

On the day Miss Angela Allen, the Pan Drum's teacher, who helped acquire the Pans gave with the assistance of some of the children a potted out line of how the drums evolved in the Caribbean. The time now had arrived for the short performance by the children, this indeed was very well performed, all the more as they had had no more than a few hours of practise. The children then became instructors as they picked out members of staff yo play who had to come, the head was chosen and the guest of honour the PGM. They all did very well and can be seen from the look of concentration complete with a smile of satisfaction knowing that the gift would bring enjoyment as wll as education to these yougsters and others who would follow in their footsteps.

The Head Mr R Lilley and the Governors pass on their most sincere thanks to all the Masons of the Province for the contributions and to the Charities Committee for choosing their project.
