Saturday Morning Group.

For the members and guests who attended our February meeting speaker, Jim Sumner struck a very familiar theme with his talk, ‘Old Age comes at a Bad Time’. We all could relate to his experiences of lost car keys and spectacles only to discover they are on our head! Jim recounted humorous anecdotes and embarrassing situations we frequently get ourselves into.

Following the A.G.M. at the March meeting a Silent Auction was held with the proceeds going to group funds. A special thank you to all those who made the event a great success.

We were pleased to welcome Judy Morrow to our April meeting. As a ‘Care Advice Visitor’ for the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institute, Judy’s excellent talk covered all aspects of the R.M.B.I. and has been caring for Freemasons and their dependants for many years. The seventeen care homes across England and Wales offer different types of care – Residential, Nursing, Dementia and Sheltered Accommodation. For those requiring assistance the R.M.B.I. give advice on the many services and benefits available. Judy’s role of a Care Advice Visitor (Midlands) covers a wide range of duties and we are grateful for her time in visiting our group.
