Goods to the value of £1000 comprising of a Belling Gas Range Cooker, toaster, slow cooker and a grill were presented to Suzie Wright of the LIFE Community Interest Company by the Provincial Grand Master R.W.Robin Wilson on Wednesday July 2nd 2008. Also shown is student Sarah Godfrey.

The equipment will be a valuable asset to the group and will be used to run an internal catering business using produce grown by themselves in their allotment to provide healthy meals for the students or the people they live with providing them with an evening meal.

All students will play a part within this business and any money made will go to the running of the project in the following year.

Here are some of the subjects they will be covering, cookery, home skills, communication skills, money, shopping skills, health & safety, personal safety, personal hygiene, basic skills, computer IT skills, recreational activities, work experience, community & travel skills and gardening.

Each student will have their own plan set up to include the things they enjoy as well as their individual needs.

The students use excellent premises based at Aspley Methodist Church, Melbourne Road, Aspley, which has full disabled access.
