Gifts presented to Pinner Lodge during the Banner Rededication

Pinner Lodge No 3300 was privileged to have a contingent of Freemasons from its namesake Pinner Lodge No 3423 in the Province of Middlesex at the Centenary Rededication ceremony of the Lodge Banner on Saturday 18th October 2008 in the Ionic Temple at Goldsmith Street. In 1991, the then Secretary of Pinner Lodge in Middlesex W Bro Alan May, (who subsequently became Assistant Provincial Grand Master) contacted W Bro Tony Allwood, a Past Master and Lodge Secretary at that time, to cement a bond between the two Lodges. Over the years, that association has remained a strong and robust connection to this day. W Bro Tony is now an Honorary Member of the Middlesex Pinner Lodge in recognition of his endeavours, W Bro Roger Croome PSGD, Past Assistant Grand Master and Deputy Grand Superintendent of Middlesex and W Bro Adrian Howorth, PGStB also an Honorary Member of the Nottingham Pinner Lodge together with other Middlesex Lodge members, attended the ceremony. A beautifully embroidered cushion embossed with gold leaf was presented to the Lodge by W Bro Howorth on behalf of his fellow members. Bro Steve Brassington presented an exquisite boxed set of the working tools of the three degrees whilst the Pinner Lodge of Instruction presented a new set of the Square and Compasses. W Bro Colin Shields was pleased to present a new poinyard. The Lodge treated itself to a new set of Officers' Collars and Master and Wardens' Cuffs. The Volume of the Sacred Law which has been authenticated at one hundred years old, was lovingly restored due to the efforts of the Worshipful Master, Bro Ken Lawmon. There were also present several Grand Lodge Officers and numerous visiting brethren to witness the ceremony and enjoy the convivial Festive Board in the Ionic dining room afterwards.

Pinner Lodge Banner Rededication Ceremony

Pinner Lodge No 3300 became 100 years old on 20th June 2008 and amongst it's several celebrations during the year was the Ceremonial Visit to rededicate the Lodge Banner on Saturday 18th October 2008 by the Provincial Grand Master for Nottinghamshire Rt W Bro R K Wilson, accompanied by the Deputy V W Bro R H Green, the Assistant PGM W Bro J S B Mather and the Acting Officers of Provincial Grand Lodge. The rededication ceremony was made all the more splendid and effective by the truly inspiring efforts of the Pr GDC W Bro Graham Wood who ensured everyone involved knew exactly what was required of them. Much of the choreography necessitated some complicated footwork by the six Acting Stewards and six Lodge members in parading the Banner in front of the assembled Brethren. Those who have never witnessed a Banner rededication were left in no doubt that it was awe inspiring and those younger Masons became aware that Freemasonry has more to offer than just the three degrees. The smell from the burning censer as the Pr GChap rededicated the Banner gave that final touch to Pinner Lodge's milestone in its history. The accompanying photograph taken outside the Ionic Temple depicts the Provincial Grand Master, his Acting Officers and Lodge Brethren.
