Worksop Carol Concert, December 2008
# By Bro Eric Needham on 30th December, 2008
December 18th 2008 saw another wonderful turn out for the Carol Concert organised by the Worksop Masons held at the Masonic Hall.
I have to say that this year’s concert was attended by over 150 people, and the stars of the show were the children from St Anne’s who sang with true and sweet voices. As Rev Frank Beech conducted the concert ,who was for many years the vicar of St Anne’s it was almost a family reunion.
The soloist Miss Tina Rossington’s sweet tender notes of “Away in a Manger” rang out over a silent audience who is shown with the school choir in the accompanying photograph.
Three Kings was lead off by The Provincial Grand Master of Nottinghamshire R W Bro R K Wilson with W Bro A Mousley and W Bro A Rossington, yes (Tina’s Dad ); Rev Beech involved the audience with his way of doing the 12 Days of Christmas, great fun. [The PGM passed comment that he thought it went well, which was pleasing for me as this was my last year as organiser]
Everyone from the youngest to the not so youngest enjoyed the singing.
At the end everyone retired down stairs to have a buffet and drinks. We can’t wait for the 2009 Masonic Carol Concert.

Peter Olko (Editor) – Whilst I couldn’t attend this due to a prior engagement, I also understand that this was a great success and as Eric’s last appearance as the often much under-published organiser of the event, I would extend my thanks, thanks from all have attended and enjoyed it over the years and also from the beneficiaries who have assisted from Eric’s and Worksop’s splendid efforts. Eric, I wish you well in semi-retirement, no doubt you will be putting your talents to other pursuits.
