Friday 30th January 2009 saw quiz night, this was held with the sole intention of helping one of our most deserving charities, The Bassetlaw Hospice.

Teams of four were made up of masons, members and associates of the Hospice. Mr Ian Hall an organizing officer of the hospice was there with at least two teams. To make things interesting, the Lodges from Potter Street were invited to submit teams which they did. The quiz master W Bro J M Waller and the Chairman of Worksop Masonic Club, had some very interesting questions, 35 in total and the winning teams had 32 points. After several tie break questions, it still remained a tie, there by the winnings were divided and then donated to the Hospice.

The winning Masonic Team won a bottle of Scotch Whisky, this was then auctioned and was secured by Bro C Thomlinson of Ryton Lodge, again the proceeds going to the Hospice. The club Secretary and Treasurer W Bro M J Merrell and W Bro E W J Lancashire were busy helping out as well as helping with the raffle.

The pie and pea supper went down with gusto, thanks go to the Hall manager Mr P Addison and his staff.

The total collected for the Hospice on the night was £300
