Saturday 21st February 2009 saw the successful launch of the SRIA Study Circle at Grantham masonic hall, where members of the SRIA and interested master masons spent the day productively discussing some very interesting topics.

Initially, M.W.Frater John Belton of Hallamshire College led a discussion into ‘The True Meaning of Freemasonry’, using as its basis the 1723 edition of Anderson’s Constitutions (the 1734 edition is available to read online at http://freemasonry.bcy.ca/history/anderson/index.html.)

The group broke for a plentiful lunch at 12:30, and resumed in the afternoon to hear, and afterwards discuss, a paper prepared by the studygroup organizer V.W. Frater Jim Johnson of Alan G Davies & John Dee Colleges entitled ‘The Problem of Evil’.

This very productive meeting closed at 2pm and thanks were extended to V.W. Frater Jim for his commendable efforts in bringing this study circle into fruition, to Mark, the Manager of the Masonic Hall for his hospitality and to the Brethren attending who came from far and wide to share this event.

The next meeting is planned for Saturday April 25th where Any Frater / Brother wishing to attend should register his interest to the organiser, WFra Jim Johnson at jamesjohnson44@btinternet.com.
