PGM of Northamptonshire & Huntingdonshire hosts MLMG meeting
Saturday 28th March 2009 saw three Newark Masons join 37 other members and guests of the Masonic Libraries and Museums Group at Peterborough Masonic Hall for the first of their two meetings planned for this year, hosted by RWBro Barrie Hall, PGM.
On Friday 20th March, Edwinstowe Lodge celebrated WBro Alan Bernard Marshall’s 50 years in Freemasonry. In open lodge the minutes of his initiation meeting were read, followed by a presentation by the Deputy Provincial Grand Master, VW Bro Reginald Henry Green.
Treetops Hospice Presentation by Castle Lodge No 3219
Recently W.M. Ron Nuttall, P Pr G Swd B. and IPM Bill Davis of Castle Lodge 3219, had an appointment at the Treetops Hospice, Derby Road, Risley to present a cheque, for money raised whilst W Bro Davis was the Master of the Lodge.

The speaker at our February meeting was already well known to our group and his return was well received by members. Gordon Gadsby’s travel account of his ‘Rockies to Alaska’ holiday was also illustrated by his excellent photographic slides.
Donation to Nottingham Urology Centre at City Hospital

Recently W Bo.Mick Glynn Master of the Duchess of Portland Lodge No 3570 with his wife Carole Anne Glynn handed over a cheque for £200 to Mr G Mann, Consultant at the Nottingham Urology Centre of the City Hospital for Prostate Cancer Research
W. Bro Eric Saxton - 50 Years in Freemasonry
W. Bro. Eric Saxton was born on 18th August, 1932 at Sutton-in-Ashfield where he has lived all of his life.
On a recent voyage around the whole of South America on board the Queen Mary II, W.Bro. Mick Cox of the Worksop Priory Lodge 7443 was chosen to be Secretary by the 24 other Brethren who were also on board the ship. The Brotherhood met on five occasions which included a Cocktail Party and a Luncheon organised by the Secretary. Brethren from the United Kingdom joined with Brethren from all over the world including USA, Hong Kong, Australia and Canada. Two of the Brethren, John Ginter aged 92 years of the Easter Star Lodge, Massachusetts, USA and George Lambourne 88 years of the King Solomon Lodge No. 378 UK have almost 130 years Masonic service between them.
On Sunday March 1st 2009 at The Masonic Hall, Goldsmith Street the Provincial Grand Master, Robin Keith Wilson made his selection of music to take with him to that well known, but mythical, Desert Island.

Over 100 Sovereign Princes of the Rose Croix of Heredom attended Mansfield Masonic Hall on Tuesday 3rd March 2009 to witness the reconstitution of the Trinity Rose Croix Chapter No 566 - an event thought to be only the second ever occurrance.
