Treetops Hospice Presentation by Castle Lodge No 3219

Recently W.M. Ron Nuttall, P Pr G Swd B. and IPM Bill Davis of Castle Lodge 3219, had an appointment at the Treetops Hospice, Derby Road, Risley to present a cheque, for money raised whilst W Bro Davis was the Master of the Lodge.

They were met by Gay Evans, Community Fundraiser, and her colleague, who gave the two Masons a short conducted tour of the facilities provided by the Hospice and information about how they work.

The Treetops Hospice is an independent charity providing Day care and Home care for people (over 18) with life limiting illnesses for whom continuing care is needed.

The services are offered free of charge and costs run at around £1.3 million per annum. Currently they have to raise around 65% of these costs through charitable giving.

The services include Daycare Hospice at Home nurses Bereavement Support Carers Support Complementary Therapy

Since last year we also offer a new Family Bereavement service that offers support to families and children within our area.

Our services cover a population of around 800,000, covering areas of Derbyshire and particularly ottinghamshire including, Nottingham City, Beeston, Ripley and West Bridgford

Kathy Longden, Clinical Services Manager, who received the cheque from Castle Lodge on behalf of Treetops Hospice, says, "It is with the help of organizations like Castle Lodge that we are able to continue to support the local community with our services. Thank you to everyone involved."
