TLC Valentines Lunch

This year was the fourth Teddies for Loving Care Valentines Lunch held at Ruddington Golf Club. The event has become one of the most popular events for ladies Masonic and Non-masonic the event being well supported by the local community.

The lunch is held the Sunday preceding Valentine’s Day and this year ninety four turned out for a superb four course lunch with appropriate background music of love supplied by local DJ ‘Howard’.

A feature of the event is the auction followed by a giant raffle with all of the many prizes donated by local shops and individuals who are ‘Friends of TLC’. Auction items that went for significant sums were the days shooting donated by Thrumpton CP Shooting Club which was multiplied by four such was the demand. Tickets for cricket at Trent Bridge, a Food Processor, Ferrari Works Teddy and even a Notts County football shirt - well it was signed by the team!

The auction raised £800 the raffle £450 and the event as a whole £2000.

President of the TLC for Nottinghamshire, W Bro Steve Mather and W Bro Woodhead (Treasurer), presented a cheque for £500 to the Mayor of Rushcliffe for his appeal for a non-invasive heart monitor for QMC Paediatric ICU, and his wife Ann drew the raffle tickets.

All the ladies present received a fresh cut rose and their husbands were the beneficiaries of lots of brownie points!
