The Annual Convocation of Provincial Grand Chapter on Friday 15th May 2009 marked the culmination of a trilogy of Provincial appointments for Excellent Companion Tony Hopewell; establishing what may in fact be a unique record within the Province of Nottinghamshire.

At this meeting Tony was appointed Acting Provincial Grand Scribe Nehemiah, which is the senior acting provincial office in Chapter equivalent to that of Senior Warden in the Craft and Mark Degrees.

Brother Tony has, in fact also held both those Offices, being the acting Provincial Senior Grand Warden in the Craft in 2000 and more recently, that in the Mark degree in 2008.

No doubt Tony’s experience, commitment and enthusiasm for all of his Masonic interests will enable him to discharge the duties of his latest high office to the same level of accomplishment and enjoyment he achieved whilst in the two previous senior posts. Clearly he is a very capable and highly committed member of our Province and is to be congratulated on having attained these three prestigious appointments.

Having gazed back through the year books for quite a number of years, I have so far been unable to identify any other Brother who has held all three acting offices…..but may be you know different?
