Red Cross of Constantine Summer Buffet Supper
# By Ill.Kt. Mark Holliday, Divisional Recorder on 14th July, 2009, in Site News Events
On Saturday evening, 11th July, the Red Cross of Constantine Order held its annual Summer Gathering. This event was first held in 1994 after an idea by Mrs Pat Lovett, the wife of our then Intendant-General, R.Ill.Kt David Lovett. The event still proves popular and some 34 members of the Order, their ladies, family and friends, totalling 85, met at West Bridgford Masonic Hall for a convivial and relaxing evening of socialising and entertainment. A meal consisting of a cold meat salad, strawberries and cream and coffee was followed by songs sung delightfully by Moira Shirra and Grenville Gutteridge, the brother of Mike and Richard Gutteridge. The programme of light opera, more modern songs and some ‘sing-a-long’ tunes was ended by Moira singing ‘May Each Day’, the backing group being all three Gutteridge Brothers!
