Firstly, I would like to add my aplogies for the late submission. This was submitted in July of this year, by Philip but due to space constraints in the magazine, it wasn't included, nor did I at the time include it on this website. My aplogies to Philip and the Lodge. This is a follow up to the article advertising the event in the Autumn 2008 magazine

WOODTHORPE LODGE No.5645. "KING SOLOMON'S TEMPLE" By W B Phil Hudson.

On the 25th November 2008 Woodthorpe Lodge held a presentation of "THE BUILDING, KING SOLOMONS TEMPLE".

This was the first time this had been seen at Goldsmith Street and was superbly constructed by WBs, Jimmy Rogers and Jeff Smith from the Province of West Lancashire, the finished article being over 8 ft tall, it was extremely educational.

There were 116 Masons, from several provinces present in the Ionic Temple, and what a pleasure it was to see it almost full.

An excellent 4 course meal including wine followed in the Belgrave Suite, and a special thank you must go to Mrs Toolan and her team for the wonderful service they gave on the night.

After the meal 2 items were auctioned which raised £260, with a further £490 raised by a raffle. Once all expenses were covered there is in excess of £600 for various charities, including Macmillan Nurses, Rainbows Hospice and Wish upon a Star.

Many thanks to all those who attended and their generosity on the night.

Phil.
