Report by W. Bro Manifold.
I took over the Chairmanship of the 200 Club in April of this year and I want initially to thank W. Bro. Roy Weaver for all the work he has done over the past 10 years firstly as a Committee member and for the last 3 years as Chairman. The 200 Club directly assists all members at Mansfield Masonic Hall through the regular donations it makes to the Hall. Over the past twelve months a total of £21,000 has been given towards the general refurbishment of the building. The most recent work on the upstairs bar and carpeting have made a tremendous improvement to the image of the Hall and the 200 Club are pleased to be associated with it.
I am surprised; however, that membership of the 200 Club is still well below half of the total Brethren using the Hall. One way or another we will all have to “Chip in” to keep the building fit for purpose. By being a member of the Club you at least stand a chance of a return on your investment.
Since I took over the quarterly draw has returned to Lodges. In September the draw was undertaken at Ravenshead Lodge and the December draw will be undertaken at Broxtowe Lodge. The annual £500 prize is always drawn in December. Just in time to make someone’s Christmas. Hopefully this will encourage new members to come forward.
Can I thank all members for their continued support and look forward to welcoming new 200 Club contributors.
