Corinthian Lodge of Instruction No 5528 festival raises £556
Corinthian Lodge of Instruction No 5528 held their annual Festval on Thursday April 1st, and following a fine rehearsal for a ceremony of initiation over which WBro Ken Gibson presided, the 36 Brethren retired to the Festive Board at which was served bangers, mash and peas.
The Brethren, having brought various contributions for auction, watched in anticipation as WBro Larry Shelbourne took the gavel and sucessfully relieved those present of their cash, which when added to the raffle, raised £556 for local non-masonic charities.
A similar evening will be held at Newark Masonic Hall on Tuesday April 27th by the combined lodges of instruction of Newton (1661) and St Johns (8972).
Any brother wishing to attend should contact WBro Ron Farr PPrSGD through the Newton Lodge secretary, details as per the Nottinghamshire year book.
