Nottingham Children’s Hospital is based on the Queen’s Medical Centre campus and provides care for children and young people across the region and beyond for a full range of conditions from surgery and cancer to emergencies and broken bones. Additionally a small number of services, including burns, are currently provided at the Nottingham City Hospital, to the north of the city.
125th Birthday Celebration - Forest Chapter No. 1852
There will be a Provincial Chapter ceremonial Visit on Wednesday 22nd September who are celebrating its 125th birthday. To mark this occasion the Provincial team together with Forest Chapter will be dedicating a new banner.
Bro Wayne Harris and his wife Jane had a big surprise when they turned up at Car Colston for a vintage car ride in a 1931 12/50 Alvis, owned by W Bro Chris Smith. They had successfully bid for the ride at the TLC Valentines Lunch but had not bargained for having to share the day with a cheeky bear who sneaked a ride on the back – see picture. The run started from the Royal Oak pub at Car Colston and went via the riverside areas around Caythorpe further north to the general area of Southwell and then through picturesque lanes back to the pub for a picnic lunch and a pint in beautiful sunshine. Wayne and Jane both said that they had enjoyed the day and didn’t mind sharing the ride with our bear.

The Grand Master Visits Scouts in Nottinghamshire
As some Masons may know the Grand Master, HRH The Duke of Kent, is also President of The Scout Association and visited a Scout and Guide Activity Centre in Ollerton on the 17th June.
Worksop Freemasons and an Act of Remembrance:
Since the year 2000, Worksop Freemasons have held a Remembrance Service and Luncheon each year on the Sunday prior to the Official Remembrance Day in the UK to raise much needed funds for the Royal British Legion Poppy appeal and to demonstrate that Freemasonry is a force for good in our local Communities. The Provincial Grand Master and other senior members of Province have supported this event from the year of its inception.
