Audio receivers for visual impairment cricket fans
Presentation at Trent Bridge. 12th August 2010 Notts v Warwickshire CB40 Match
During a prolonged thunder storm at Trent Bridge the Deputy Provincial Grand Master. W Bro S J B Mather eventually managed to dodge the heavy down pours to make a special presentation to the CEO of Trent Bridge, Derek Brewster. Mr Brewster afterwards commented that over the years to come many people will be grateful for the consideration and care of the Masons of the Province.
So what had been a dream and desire of Bro David Eades of Elliot Lodge had now become a reality, for David a long time, and most active supporter of the County Cricket team was ever conscious of the need to provide audio receivers for the blind and partially sighted spectators who regularly attended the matches but until now could not share in the finer points of a match.
To fulfill this real deficiency Provincial Grand Charity donated almost £3000 to procure ten receivers for supporters with visual impairment who can now participate in the full beauty of the game. This as perceived of course by Bro Davids, non biased, yet personalized commentary from a vantage point high up in the stand of the Radcliffe Road End.
The presentation was marked by the presence of Sky TV and printed by Nottingham Evening Post later in the week.
By the way the match did finally get under way, well after 7.30pm and on a much reduced over rate game which saw Notts convincing and worthy winners
