31st October 2011 At the meeting to be held on 31st October 2011 the Lodge will be honoured by the presence of Emeritus Professor Aubrey Newman who will present a talk based on a Prestonian Lecture he has previously delivered entitled "The Significance of the provinces for English Freemasonry"

Bro. Aubrey Newman was born in 1927 and educated in London, Glasgow and Oxford obtaining an MA from Glasgow, a BA, MA and D Phil from Oxford. National Service in the RAF Education branch in Germany was followed by marriage in 1954 which produced four children and latterly four grandchildren. He is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and a Past President of the Jewish Historical Society of England. His working life in academia brought appointments as a Lecturer in History followed by a Readership and a personal chair in History. Initiated into the John of Gaunt Lodge in 1967 he became its Master in 1981 and now holds the rank of Past Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies in the Grand Lodge of England He is active in Mark and Royal Arch. 31st January 2012 At the meeting to be held on 31st January 2012 A talk will be presented by W.Bro Reverend David E. Bennett Pr G.Chaplain Entitled "The Knights of Columbus & the Knights of St.Columba. The Influence of Freemasonry"

W.Bro David was born in London , and in due course , received an M.A from Cambridge, He completed his National Service as a sergeant in the RASC-Parachute Regiment. He attended the Wells Theological College, and was ordained in Wakefield Cathedral . His first Ecclesiastical appointment was as curate of Halifax Parish Church David spent much of his early working life involved in education in the West Riding of Yorkshire, moving to North Derbyshire, to County Durham, and Northumberland. He became an Educational Inspector for Nottingham County Council, and appointed Chaplain to the Lord Mayor of Nottingham in 1988. David was initiated into the Craft in 1961 into Victory Lodge and in due time became an active Provincial Officer has also been W.M of Notts. Installed Masters and gained Provincial and Grand Ranks in Mark, Red Cross, Knights Templar, Allied Degrees. 30deg.Rose Croix, and past Z in Royal Arch Last year was the 50th anniversary of David's Ordination, and this year marks his 50th year in Freemasonry As can be seen David has had a very active and distinguished career in Freemasonry and his dissertation on the Knights of Columba and Columbus should prove to be very interesting and enlightening.

29th March 2012 The March meeting on Thursday 29 th March 2012 which will be our fourth Installation meeting will see the Installation of W.Bro C.Strong Pr G.Pursuivant whose inaugural address will be entitled ; "Lodge, Temple, or Lodge Room" A look at the physical and Spiritual aspects of our meeting place.

W.Bro Christopher was born in Chelmsford Essex in 1956, and spent part of his childhood in South Africa. After Schooling in Lancashire he joined the Army in 1974, and attended the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst where he was commissioned into the Queen's Lancashire Regiment in 1975. He has served in most of the hot spots in the world, and in 1986 transferred into the Royal Corps of Transport, later the Royal Logistics Corps. Notable postings as a Liaison Officer with the Soviet Army in East Germany, as an Arms Control Inspector and with Special Forces in Hereford. Retired in 2010 in the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Christopher is divorced with two grown-up daughters, his main passion is book collecting and History.
