Spiral [Nottinghamshire] a local charity which provides specialist bereavement and emotional support to children following the loss of someone important in their lives, held a ‘Fun Day’ at Wollaton Park in August.
It was a beautiful sunny day so the hundred plus children and their families attending were able to take full advantage of the wide range of activities available. There was a fun percussion making session using scrap material which was then pulled together with a grand finale of music by everyone present. ‘Stickman’, a local entertainer, led this and other activities and his skills were greatly appreciated. There was much laughter and lots of smiles and a great atmosphere.
The children and their families enjoyed a great day out and special thanks goes to ‘Teddies for Loving Care Nottinghamshire’ for funding the event and providing a bear for every child to take home as a lasting memory of a day free from care.
Thanks also to Boots and Nottingham Forest Football Club who provided support on the day through their respective community programmes.
