Mansfield Charity Stewards Presentation To Landmarks Charity
On 30th June 2010 W. Bro Eric Wheatley, Charity Steward of Mansfield Lodge, attended the Summer Fayre of the Landmarks Charity Trust at Cresswell, and presented a cheque in the sum of £500.00 on behalf of the Mansfield Charity Stewards. The donation was for the purchase of Polytunnels. He was also given the honour of formally opening the Summer Fayre.

W Bro David Shakespeare with W Bro Derek Prudham (Treasurer) and Bro Laurence Dickerson (Junior Warden and Governor of Brackenfield School) visited Brackenfield School and Specialist College in Cognition and Learning at Long Eaton on Wednesday 24th February 2010 to present a donation of £200. The presentation was made to Mr Phil Ormerod, the Head Teacher, who was pleased to receive the donation, which will help towards the cost of Enterprise Week when all the pupils take part in Residential and daily activities out of school in July.
Bramcote Lodge WM's cycle trip raises £2200 for Baby Unit
When W Bro Colin Waring’s grandson, Keiran, was born prematurely in 1992 he weighed in at just 1lb 11 oz and was given a 10% chance of living. He was clothed in bubble wrap to aid his survival in the Baby Unit of Derby Royal Hospital. Colin and his wife Jo were so grateful at the time to the dedicated staff at the Royal they organized a sponsored cycle ride, in which Colin and W Bro Mick Chappell, also of Bramcote Lodge cycled across Portugal and raised £1300.00 for the unit.

Mansfield Charity Stewards Swimathon Presentation
The Mansfield Charity Stewards annual "Swimathon" held at the Water Meadows Swimming Baths at Mansfield on Sunday 15th March raised £4591.70 to be divided between Central Notts Mind (Mansfield Branch) and The Lung Cancer Research Fund Charity at City Hospital. All the Mansfield Lodges were represented in this event as well as swimmers from Mind and a consultant doctor and his family.

Mansfield Charity Stewards annual Swimathon held at the Mansfield Water Meadows Leisure Centre on the 18th March 2008 raised £4011.00 in support of the Ride 4 Life initiative, which was set up in memory of young local boy Liam Doherty, who contracted Leukemia and died during the year.

The Mansfield Craft Lodge's Charity Steward, chaired by W. Bro Michael Bull, Old Elizabethan Lodge, raises money through the year to make donations to suitable local non-masonic causes. A donation of £841 has been made to Fountaindale School to purchase ten 'BIG Macks'. No, not items from the famous fast food chain, but BIG Mack Communicators. These are single message communications devices which can be programmed to give speech or sounds or even to switch on other equipment. Ideal for young people with severe disbilities, as a learning aid as well as a communications device. The Charity Stewards who attended the presentation had the benefit of a brief conducted tour of the school. The school is celebrating its 50 years anniversary this year.
Mansfield Charity Stewards Buy Camping equipment For Scout Group
Bro A E Scothern of Kirkeby Lodge, a keen Scout Leader, helped to form the 1st Kirkby in Ashfield Scout Troop. The Troop was dreadfully short of camping equipment, and he made application to the Mansfield Charity Stewards for assistance.

Grants to non-Masonic charities totalling £1.3 million were approved at the recent Annual General Meeting of The Freemasons' Grand Charity. This included thirteen grants to support specific projects (major grants) and an allocation of funding for distribution during 2007 to smaller charities (minor grants) and hospice services.
Each month The Nottinghamshire Mason 'on-line' will advertise a preferred charity to receive any personal contributions or Lodge donations that you feel disposed to give, plus profit from advertising income.
The Bracken Hill School is a school catering for special needs pupils and is situated in Sutton in Ashfield. At the moment, the school has an appeal to fund the purchase of a new minibus, and United Service Chapter has been very pleased to give them a donation of £500 for this cause.
