Excelsior Lodge 7895
# By W.Bro A.E.Inskip on 17th April, 2010
With regards to Excelsior Lodges problems with a shortage of members,
We at Dale Abbey Lodge 5603 (Derbyshire) some weeks ago held a "White table " evening and invited Lodge members' non-Masonic friends to a meal and a talk about freemasonry.Tthey were given a guided tour around the lodge and a talk about the history and the charitable work we do.
We had 21 friends attend.
I am sure we will have at least 8 of these young men join our lodge,
I feel this is what we have to do I am aware that Goldsmith St has a "open day" but if a lodge member has a friend, work mate or neighbour, that he thinks would make a good freemason we should invite them to a "white table" evening and give them a look at what a very nice club Masonry is to be a member of.
I am very proud to be a Mason, and I am not ashamed to say so if I was I would not be a Mason.
Masonry has Got to be more open otherwise there will be a lot more Lodges in the same boat as Excelsior
